Job Description

Help people continue being me

At Majesticare, activities and community engagement are about so much more than what’s planned for the day.

They’re about knowing the person, understanding what brings them joy and creating opportunities for them to continue doing the things they love, while staying connected to the people, places and communities around them.

In this role, you’ll help bring happiness, purpose and adventure into everyday life at Oaktree Court. You’ll work closely with our Activities Lead to create meaningful experiences for residents, while building strong relationships with our local community and showcasing everything that makes our home special.

One day you might be helping organise a community event at the home, the next you could be visiting a local school or community group, supporting residents on a trip out, creating content for social media or helping someone continue a lifelong passion.

Why Majesticare?

For over 25 years, we've been creating places where people love to live and people love to work.

Everything we do is guided by our Continue Being Me philosophy and our values:

  • Heart – We care with kindness and compassion.
  • Family – We support one another and create a true sense of belonging.
  • Trust – We act with honesty, integrity and respect.
  • Happiness – We create positive experiences every day.
  • Adventure – We embrace new experiences that bring joy, purpose and possibility.

Your Role

You’ll work closely with our Activities Lead and the wider Oaktree Court team to create experiences shaped around each person’s interests, routines, relationships and ambitions.

A big part of your role will be bringing Oaktree Court and the local community together. You’ll build relationships with local schools, groups, charities and organisations, creating opportunities for residents to remain connected to the community around them.

You’ll help develop relationships with organisations such as Age UK, Parkinson’s groups, Dementia Alliances, Rotary Clubs and other local charities and community groups, while also looking for new opportunities and partnerships.

You’ll also:

  • Help organise community events, celebrations, themed activities and trips for residents.
  • Play an active role within the Activities Team each week, supporting and delivering meaningful activities within the home.
  • Get to know our residents and involve them in projects and events within the wider community.
  • Work alongside the Activities Lead to plan trips, visits and experiences outside of the home.
  • Help organise events at Oaktree Court that welcome families, local groups and the wider community.
  • Showcase life at Oaktree Court through company-approved social media platforms.
  • Help create and develop the home's newsletter, sharing the stories, experiences and achievements of our residents.
  • Build positive relationships with local press and key people within the community.
  • Visit local groups, schools and organisations to raise awareness of Oaktree Court and help generate enquiries.
  • Work with our kitchen team to create themed events and experiences.
  • Source and work with entertainers, suppliers and vendors for events, ensuring the appropriate paperwork and health and safety requirements are in place.
  • Support with risk assessments for activities and events and ensure these are clearly communicated to the wider team.
  • Hold weekly meetings with the Activities Team to review upcoming activities, events and marketing opportunities.
  • Review the success of community engagement and events, sharing ideas and action plans for future opportunities.
  • Support new residents as they move into Oaktree Court and help them become part of the family.

Some of our best events happen outside of the traditional working day, so you'll also need to be flexible to support occasional evening and weekend events as part of your working week.

You’ll receive training on our Continue Being Me framework and will help bring this philosophy to life through everything you do.

Most importantly, you’ll see the person before the activity. Because the best moments don't come from a timetable. They come from knowing someone well enough to understand what will make them smile.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is curious about people and excited about bringing people together.

Someone who will ask questions, listen to stories, build relationships and turn those connections into experiences that matter.

You’ll be someone who:

  • Lives our values every day.
  • Brings warmth, energy and positivity.
  • Loves meeting new people and building relationships.
  • Is confident representing Oaktree Court within the local community.
  • Enjoys organising events and bringing ideas to life.
  • Is comfortable using social media to share positive stories.
  • Has creative ideas and isn't afraid to try something new.
  • Is organised and able to manage several activities or projects at once.
  • Encourages choice, independence and confidence.
  • Works well as part of one supportive team.
  • Takes pride in creating memorable, thoughtful experiences.
  • Believes that age should never limit possibility.

Experience within activities, community engagement, events, hospitality, marketing or care would be welcomed, but what matters most is your attitude, creativity and genuine interest in people.

This is more than a job.

It's an opportunity to bring a home and its community together, create experiences people will remember and help our residents continue being themselves, every single day.
